The Western Region of Ghana, in the southern part of the country, is a must-visit destination for travellers. With a diverse geography of sandy beaches, lush rainforests, and winding rivers, the region is a nature lover’s paradise. The capital city, Sekondi-Takoradi (‘the twin city’), is an industrial and commercial capital of the region with a population of over 44000 people. It is also a port city with its convenient location in the Gulf of Guinea.

These rivers partly form the western national border. The famous village of Nzulezo, built entirely on stilts and platforms over water is also something you would not want to miss.
