Oti

A visual glance at what Oti has to offer...

Welcome to the Oti region of Ghana

Discover the beauty and culture of the Oti Region, one of Ghana's six newly established regions formed in December 2018. This region borders the Northern Region to the north, the Volta Region to the south, and the Volta Lake to the west. With 9 districts, Dambai serves as the capital town.

Explore the lush grassland and savanna. The vegetation in the Oti Region mostly comprises grassland, particularly savanna, with clusters of drought-resistant trees such as baobabs or acacias. Before you go, keep in mind that the dry season is December - April and the wet season is May - November.

Immerse yourself in the local culture by learning Ewe, the primary language spoken in the region, next to English, Ghana's official language.

Take in the natural beauty of Lake Volta and the Kyabobo Mountain, and gain an appreciation for the region's rich culture and delicious food while enjoying the warm hospitality of the locals.

The Oti Region is poised to become one of Ghana's most economically vibrant regions, thanks to the recent discovery of iron deposits in some districts. Don't miss the opportunity to experience the unique blend of natural beauty, delicious cuisine, and rich culture that the Oti Region offers.
