Kakum National Park

Where: Coastal area of the Central Region. 

About: Kakum National Park is full of natural wonders and can boast of various plants and animals. It is a tropical rainforest that is now home to some most endangered animal species. These endangered species include the yellow-backed duiker and the African elephant. The Kakum National Park is one of the top attraction sites for tourists who intend on seeing wildlife and nature in Ghana. 

To do: One incredible feature of Kakum Park is the tree top walkway. Take a walk across the walkway to see the wildlife in the forest below and enjoy the lush sceneries.

Bia National Park

Where: Western Region of Ghana.

About: Imagine a vast, lush forest filled with evergreen trees and sweet-scented flowers with colourful birds chirping and flying over every breathing second. That is the Bia National Park. There are over 100 different species of birds and many elephants, bushbucks, and chimpanzees.

Digya National Park

Where: Brong-Ahafo Region

About: Near the mighty Volta Lake lies Ghana’s wondrous Digya National Park. It is famous for its deep green vegetation, stunning landscape, flora, and fauna and for its impressive elephant population. The expansive landmass of 3,500 square kilometres makes its wildlife dwelling capabilities diverse and hence makes it a habitat for vast varieties of animals. This park is home to over 200 species of birds, otters, elephants, and crocodiles.

Bui National Park

Where: Between Bono and Savannah Regions.

About: The Bui National Park is the third largest National Park in Ghana. It is most notable for its hippopotamus population. The Bui National Park bisects the Black Volta river, which contributes to making it a haven for hippopotamuses and other water animals and fishes. The park is also home to an amazingly large number of antelopes, monkeys, and birds. 

To-Do: Bui National Park is the perfect place to go for a guided boat tour while watching hippos – chubby unicorns - in their natural habitat.

Mole National Park

Where: Northern Region of Ghana.

About: Mole National Park covers a land area of 4500 square kilometres. This gigantic mass of land contains amazing sites and natural wonders. The pristine Mole and Lovi rivers are just but a few of the sites to mention. The two rivers and rainfalls maintain plant and wildlife habitats. A trip to the park will be unforgettable. Local government and private individuals in developing hotels and lodges nearby, have made improvements to make your visit more comfortable. Most common animals to see here are hippos, buffalos, elephants, tigers, and lions.

Kyabobo National Park

Where: Eastern Region near the Ghana-Togo border on the East.

About: Kyabobo Park is a one-of-a-kind National Park in eastern Ghana. Composed of dry, semi-deciduous forest savannah, the park preserves the endangered endemic tree ‘Talbotiella Gendtii’ and varieties of other plant species, and many bird and animal species. Hotels and guesthouses nearby Kyabobo offer a warm welcome to have an adventure in the wild.
