The Hedzranawo slavery museum is a rehabilitated Danish building which exhibits the cultural history of the people of Hedzranawo.
The museum also holds several exhibitions which includes archaeological materials which were excavation onsite by Professor Wazi Apoh and his team from University of Ghana.
Exhibitions also includes slavery shackles which were used in holding enslaved Africans. Uniquely the museum features an underground dungeon which is belief to hold several enslaved Africans before being transported along the coast to Elmina and eventually out of the country.
In visiting Hedzranawo slavery museum, visiting tourists also gets to visit the slave market which hosts an ancient foundation which is believed to have hosted enslaved African from nearby communities and even as far as Nigeria, Togo and Benin. Again in the community of Hedzranawo lies several cultural histories which includes an artifact which was established on the foundations of SAPE AGBO (believe to be the founder of the town). This particular artifact narrates the history of a Danish merchant called Thessen who was a commandant in the 1700s at Keta and SAPE AGBO.
