The Magic of Cocoa,
Ghana is one of the world’s largest producers of COCOA.. After its introduction in 1879 by Tetteh Quarshie, cocoa cultivation and processing has become a prosperous industry in Ghana. You will learn about the growth of the cocoa industry – history, preparation of the farm, nursery, planting, pod plucking, pod opening, transporting the beans, fermentation, drying, processing and marketing. You may spend time on the farm with the farmer.

During the Mystery of the PALM TREE tour, you will observe/participate in broom, basket, fish trap, mat, and soap making. Experience palm wine tapping, Akpeteshie (aka ogyaho, ogogro, blue kiosk, VC10, kill me quick) distilling and mushroom harvesting, palm oil and palm kernel oil processing, amongst many others.

A visit to a CASSAVA (manioc) cultivation community enables you to understand why one of the major ethnic groups in West Africa calls it AGBELI (THERE IS LIFE). Two major Ghanaian staples – fufu and banku – are prepared from cassava. Other products are starch, tapioca, yaka yake, kakro, kokonte.
